Forthcoming Workshop

One day Workshop based on the Chinese 5 Elements and Meridians in relation to Reflexology.

From previous experience, feedback has been that 2 days for this was mentally exhausting. However, 1 day would be insufficient to try to cram and understand all the information being presented.

In view of this, on receipt of €40 deposit, I will forward by return most of the notes and diagrams to be used during the course. This should give the attendee time to peruse the material, make notes of areas not understood, and prepare questions requiring to be clarified. It would also save everyone time and money - 1 day instead of 2 and no overnight stay. My personal opinion behind the practice of Reflexology without knowledge and understanding of the Meridians is like using candles when you could have electricity as well.

"Chinese 5 Elements & Meridians"

The aim of all holistic therapies is to balance/harmonize the body's energies ("chi"). This energy flows in superficial channels called 'meridians'. It is most potent in specific points in our fingertips, the tips of our toes, and our ears, and is easy to access. Each of these points ('tsubos') is related to a major organ in the body and each also corresponds to the same zone on the hands and feet.

Using these points('tsubos') in a specific sequence at the beginning or end of a Reflexology treatment enhances the outcome of the treatment and is something that can easily be taught to the client to use at home for a quick 'energiser' or 'balancer'. It takes approximately 2-3 minutes to complete. Need I add that therapists would also benefit from using it for themselves at least once a day?

It is perhaps interesting to note that sometimes, when a client's 'problem' does not appear to respond to Reflexology treatment, the cause may be an imbalance in a particular meridian(s).
